Drinking smoothies is a quick and effective way of replenishing the body with essential nutrients. In addition to my favorite smoothie recipes for glowing skin, i have shared a list of nutrient rich super-foods that you can use in different combinations as per requirement.

Having an idea of nutrients in your choice of fruit/veggie/nuts/herbs will help you make a balanced smoothie without losing on nourishment.

I will also share some useful tips below each recipe to further simplify my smoothie recipes for glowing skin.

My 20 favorite recipes for glowing skin

1.Creamy banana berry smoothie

  • For one glass smoothie take 1 cup frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries
  • 1/4th cup low fat yogurt/almond milk
  • 9-10 Soaked almonds

TIP – Frozen fruit is preferable as it blends easily and keeps the smoothie texture consistent.

This creamy protein rich smoothie is great for breakfast as it keeps you full longer.You can add or reduce the quantity of ingredients according to your choice.

For extra sweetness add a teaspoon of honey(optional).

If you are allergic to nuts replace almonds with soaked chia seeds/sunflower seeds.

2. Healthy veggie smoothie

  • 1 cup washed spinach
  • 2 peeled and chopped carrots
  • 1/4 cup diced beetroot( boiling it before hand will soften the beetroot and its easier to blend)
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 cup coconut water/orange juice
  • 1 apple( for sweetness but its optional)
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger

If you are not having enough veggies in your meals this should be your go to smoothie as the ingredients here cover almost all essential nutrients. Excellent for skin, hair and immunity.

3.Minty mango smoothie

  • Take 1 cup chopped mango(fully ripe)
  • 2 oranges peeled
  • Washed kale 1/2 cup
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • Few mint leaves

Give your skin a dose of vitamin C along with essential minerals with kale and refreshing mint flavor .

Tip Do not remove pith of oranges(white part between skin and orange- it is fiber and lot of vitamin C.

4.Zingy smoothie

  • 2 carrots peeled and chopped
  • 1/4th spoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 cup spinach
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks

This veggie smoothie gets it zing from ginger( great for immunity and digestion). Pineapple adds sweetness, you can replace them with any fruit of your choice. Spinach leaves should be thoroughly washed before use.

5.Crunchy smoothie

  • 1 big or 2 small peeled and cored apples
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 tablespoon soaked chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup kale leaves/spinach
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon green matcha powder(optional)
  • Honey(optional)

Instead of matcha powder, protein or hemp powder can be added, though i prefer totally natural smoothies and refrain from adding these powders. I get my protein(both in smoothies and meals) from silken tofu, chickpeas, endame ,hempseeds.

6.Papaya smoothie

  • 1 big cup papaya chopped papaya
  • 1 kiwi
  • 1 orange peeled
  • 1 tablespoon hemp powder/cocoa powder(optional)
  • 1 tbsp grated turmeric
  • 1 tbsp sunflower seeds

You can aslo add flavored yogurt/soy milk/vanilla milk to enhance taste and protein content.Papaya enzymes are amazing for skin.

7 Creamy avocado smoothie

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 1/2 cup frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 tbsp soaked chia seeds
  • 5-6 ice cubes

Avocado and banana will make the texture creamy enough so you can replace almond milk with coconut water or orange juice to make the smoothie lighter.

Invest in a high quality blender as crushing ice cubes can put a strain on blades.

8.Peach and kale smoothie

  • 2 cups diced peach
  • 1/2 cup low fat yogurt( you can use your favorite flavor)
  • 1/2 cup kale
  • 1/2 cup ripe mango
  • 1/2 tbsp flax seed oil(optional)

Add your choice of nuts- walnuts/cashews/pistachios to enhance anti-oxidants and omega-3 in your smoothie.

9.Melon referesher

  • 2 cup water melon chunks without seeds
  • 1 cup melon
  • Handful of Fresh mint or parsley leaves
  • 1/2 cup berries of your choice
  • Ice cubes
  • 1/2 tbsp rock salt
  • Lime juice 1 tbsp

This one is great for summers. A quick option would be to skip the melon and berries. Just combine watermelon, ice, mint, lime juice and blend till smooth. Lycopene in watermelon is great for skin.

10 .Oats smoothie

  • Half cup rolled oats(or steamed)
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1/4th tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk/vanilla milk
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup
  • Berries of your choice or 1/2 cup pomegranate(optional)

This makes for a great breakfast smoothie as this blend of ingredients is not only extremely nourishing but the carbs and protein will energize you and keep you full longer

11. Tropical smoothie

  • 1 cup mango
  • 1 kiwi peeled
  • 1 cup kale
  • 1 cup pineapple
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • Few walnuts or deseeded dates

Again a very nourishing and refreshing smoothie for skin.For a lighter option replace coconut milk with coconut water.

12.Anti-oxidant smoothie

  • Cooled down green tea one cup
  • Mixed berries 1 cup
  • 1/2 cup spinach
  • 1 tbsp seeds of your choice(optional)
  • You can add honey for sweetness
  • For creamy consistency you can add banana, papaya or peaches.

Being a tea lover, green tea is my favorite for anti-oxidants. Berries and green tea combined, will replenish your system with loads of anti-oxidants.

13. Cucumber cooler

  • 1 cup diced cucumber
  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 1 apple cored( green or red)
  • 1/2 cup kale
  • 1 tbsp soaked chia seeds
  • 1/4th cup low fat- yogurt/soy milk or almond milk

For a lighter smoothie replace yogurt and milk with coconut water or orange juice,But add gradually as cucumber is quite watery.

14. Carrot cantaloupe smoothie

  • 2 carrots peeled and diced
  • 1 cup cantaloupe diced
  • 1/2 cup low fat almond milk
  • 1 peeled orange
  • 1/2 tbsp grated turmeric

Carrot is a hard vegetable so steaming it lightly beforehand is preferable as it will blend well with other ingredients.

15. Red smoothie

  • 1/2 beetroot(steamed preferable)
  • 1 big apple/peach
  • 1/2 cup washed spinach leaves
  • 1 tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger

This red smoothie is good for hemoglobin and add some natural glow to your skin along with goodness of other ingredients. Beetroot is my favorite ingredient in glowing skin smoothie recipes for its iron content.

16. Broccoli smoothie

  • 1 cup lightly steamed broccoli florets( Steamed florets will blend easily and give a creamy texture)
  • 1/2 cup kale/spinach
  • 1 cup pineapple/mango/berries/peach/apple/banana(fruit will add sweetness)
  • 1/2 cup almond milk/flavored yogurt
  • Your choice of nuts

If you do not like broccoli increase the quantity of fruits in your smoothie. You might have read above in my list of superfoods ,the amazing nutrients broccoli possess so find a way to include it in your diet.( i prefer it in my plate steamed with bell peppers and some seasoning)

17. Green fruit smoothie

  • 1 big pear or 2 small ones diced
  • 1 big green apple cored and diced
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 5-6 dates/walnuts/cashews
  • 1 tbsp sunflower seeds

For the goodness of greens without kale and spinach, try this amazing green fruit smoothie to nourish your skin.

18.Celery smoothie

  • 4-5 stalks of celery
  • 1 big red apple diced and cored
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
  • coconut water

Celery is another superfood food for skin, do try this refreshing light smoothie as a snack.

Add coconut water gradually depending on the consistency you want, as celery and cucumber are water rich foods.

19. Goji berry smoothie

  • 1/2 cup dried goji berries
  • 1/2 cup strawberries
  • 1 cup frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup soy/almond milk
  • 1 tbsp flax seeds

Copper,zinc, slelenium and many other nutrients make goji berries another superfood for their all round health benefits.

20.Sweet apple smoothie

  • 1 big red apple
  • 1/2 cup low fat Vanilla milk/almond milk
  • 5-6 pitted dates/walnuts
  • 1/2 cup frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 1 tbsp soaked chia seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp flax seed oil(optional)

You can also add 1 tbsp of peanut butter for little extra dose of good fat and protein.

  • Bananas-Rich source of potassium,manganese ,vitamin B-6 and dietary fiber.
  • Berries– They provide anti-oxidants( anti-aging nutrient), folic acid and vitamin c (essential for skin elasticity).
  • Apples-Lots of digestive fiber(healthy digestion means clear skin), vitamin c and k.
  • Pears-Again lots of fiber, vitamin c and k along with copper.
  • Peach-Fiber, protein and vitamin A( protects skin, good for heart and stomach health)
  • Pineapples-Zinc,manganese,phosphorous, vitamin c and k-boosts immunity and bone health.
  • Mango-Folate, vitamin b6, vitamin A and E, zinc and iron.

  • Cucumber-Potassium,managanese, magnesium,vitamin A C and K and lots of fiber(great for weight loss and extremely nourishing for skin)
  • Beetroot– rich in calcium, iron and vitamins A and C. Beetroots are an amazing source of folic acid,fiber, manganese and potassium.
  • Broccoli-Iron, potassium, protein,Vitamin B9, vitamin k A and C, phosphorous and anti-oxidants. Extremely nutritious, restorative at cellular level, reduces inflammation. You can eat it raw/steamed or in a smoothie.
  • spinach-Vitamin A, K ,B2, B6 C and calcium. Again, a must in your diet for strong immune system, clear skin and strong hair.
  • kale– potassium, copper and manganese. vitamins A K B2 B6 and C.
  • Celery-It has Phytonutrients essential for cell repair along with beta-carotene and anti-oxidants.

Add on ingredients

  • Yogurt-rich in calcium(good for bones), phosphorus,riboflavin and good bacteria(great for digestive system).
